ANGKOR WAT

ANGKOR WAT

Angkor Wat is an ancient city in Cambodia that was the center of the Khmer empire that once ruled most of Southeast Asia. This cilvilazation went extinct, but not before building amazing temples and buildings that were reclaimed by the jungle for hundreds of years. Though this place is packed with tourists, it’s still breathtaking to see. The most popular temples are Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Phrom, and Angkor Thom. I would recommend getting a multi-day pass so you can visit some of the outer temples where there are less crowds. The closest major city and launching pad for tours here is Siem Reap. This travel guide to Angkor Wat has information about the temples and transportation.

MUNICH

MUNICH

The Englishgarden during fall with the leaves changing in Munich, Germany
Munich is the largest city in southern Germany and is famous for its annual beer festival, Oktoberfest, which brings the huge drunk crowds, but there’s a lot more to Munich than drinking steins of beers. There is a beautiful historic city center, large parks and gardens (with surfing), hearty German food, and beer halls filled with friendly people. There is also Munich’s famous clock, art collection, the palace, and the famous English Garden. The city wasn’t bombed during the war like Berlin was so a lot of the history is still visible in the city. Munich is also a smart base for people visiting other places in Bavaria. Munich lacks the edgy feel Berlin does but it’s just as awesome a place to visit. Don’t skip Munich, drink a beer, and let this guide help you plan your trip.

ZURICH

ZURICH

With a hopping nightlife, filled with endless bars and restaurants, this cosmopolitan city is bustling with activity. Zurich is also set on a beautiful lake, near the mountains, and is close to a lot of other cities. It’s a very international city and you’ll find expats and students from all around the world living and working here. I love the historic center that opens up on the lake, sitting in the parks, and drinking a beer on the lakefront. The city is also very arty and full of street art and exhibitions. While very expensive thanks to all the banks in the city, Zurich is a city worth staying for many days. This travel guide to Zurich can help you visit the city on budget and fill your time!

CROATIA

Croatia

I'll admit, I'm more than a little biased, but Croatia is quite simply my favourite country to visit. For me, it offers a unique combination of all the things I love: breathtaking natural beauty, great swimming, summertime sun, oodles of history, interesting architecture, incredible wine, delicious seafood… I could go on. True, Croats don't always present the sunniest face to complete strangers, but break through...

BANGKOK

BANGKOK

Bangkok is known around the world for its chaotic, crowded streets, cheap prices, wild nightlife, and never ending traffic. Most travelers either love or hate it. I used to hate it because of its pollution, noise, and crowds, but when I got to know it more, I changed my mind. The city is like an onion. It slowly reveals its secrets to those who spend a little extra time here. You’ll find that this seemingly ugly city has a lot of beauty. There’s not a lot for travelers “to do” here but when you stay a little while, you see this isn’t a city of activities, it’s one of friends, food, drinks, and life. There’s a flow to it. I lived here in 2006, fell madly in love, and visit every year since! Let this travel guide show you there’s more to the City of Angels than you think!

MILAN

MILAN

Milan is the fifth-largest city in the European Union and is recognized worldwide for being a design and fashion capital. It’s set apart by its glamour and passions – football, opera, and fashion. But while there is glitz and fashion and a few historic sites, for me, Milan is a meh kind of city. It didn’t really amaze me. A lot of Milanese people have even told me it’s a city in which to work and not play. In my opinion, the city is worth a visit but not an extended one.
